Full-size DEXTER v2.0
Major accomplishment this past week was completing the full-size DEXTER v2.0 at the studio. He is measuring at 57cm in height. The biggest part took over 13 hours to print, and it took a couple of nights of overnight printing (and reprinting) to complete all the parts! Should also note that I was sick at […]
Tired Week
My sister’s family is visiting town, but I felt like I had seen enough of them already in Toronto last summer. My sister in HK and my mom had dinner with them separately, I declined the invitations and kept myself busy with work. Finished re-engineering my studio’s mascot, DEXTER, to use a more flexible frame […]
Elderly Home Visit
Our fellowship teamed up with another fellowship to visit an elderly home this afternoon. It’s Dragon Boat Festival, but public holiday didn’t seem to be any different for the elderly. I wonder where their families were? The elderly all seemed rather lonely when we first got there, but as we carried out the prepared programme […]
Half Day @CUHK
Went back to my Alma Mater before noon to sit in on a public lecture by Xi Zinong on “Protecting the Nature through Images”. The humble and admirable wildlife photographer have spent ~30 years treading through the most remote locations in China taking breathtaking pictures of nature. I understood probably around 60% of the mandarin, […]
20141128 AD
My good friend’s Big Day. Helping out as an amateur wedding photographer, I woke up early to meet up with the groomsmen to start the full-day celebration. I had a hard time with the groom’s camera, though it’s relatively compact and light, the digital viewfinder was annoyingly sluggish, and the camera’s interface was hardly intuitive. […]
Day 11
Left work slightly early to visit the peaceful rally in Admiralty. I was there also to hopefully observe and photograph the lunar eclipse for the first time, unfortunately it was a cloudy night and the moon was veiled most of the time. The more I visit the Government Headquarter the more I seem to love […]
Mai Po Night Tour
Joined the night tour at Mai Po this evening. It was a good trip away from the city, the last time I saw such a gorgeous sunset was in Hawaii last summer. I know, I really should get out of this city more often.
New Camera
Needed a new point & shoot camera because the old one got stolen and my parents wanted to bring one along their upcoming cruise trip. Was thinking about getting a depreciated Canon S110, but the sales directed me to the Nikon P330 for the same price and with specs comparable to the newly released S120. […]
Fellowship Retreat & Running
Got back from a 3-day fellowship retreat in a lovely site in Lantau Island. I’m thankful for all the committee’s arrangement, without which I wouldn’t be able to enjoy a relaxing time away from the city. Retreat is a great opportunity to get to know fellow b/s more, and being at a remote area, I […]
Tai O Day Trip
Father was invited by friends to pay a visit to Tai O, my mother, sister, brother-in-law, and I decided to join. I was there mainly just to stroll around, take a little breather, and shoot some photos. Enjoyed the tranquility and took some lovely photos of the local flora and fauna.
