The 10k streetathon last Sunday was a bit of a disappointment, poor planning and preparation of the organiser had many runners including me stop way too often for way too long along the way. Hot weather and street side air pollution were a couple of other disappointing aspects of the run.
Perhaps due to adequate practice, the 10k streetathon didn’t seem too tiring for me, but I had to battle a bit with my sluggish inertia before I can push myself to go out and run again this morning. There’s only a month left before the coming half marathon in mid-Feb, I just couldn’t afford to rest long before continuing my training.
Running is a solitary (and somewhat boring) sport, but it seems to help clear my mind from the many questions and troubles I’m having in life. Running isn’t easy either, I still feel like giving up before and during the run every time despite having endured through many practice runs. But the sense of accomplishment of sweating through a practice run is rewarding every single time.
“Keep your legs moving, Tony!!” I seem to hear that whispering to me sometimes while running.
