Made the most out of my Monday Art exploration.  It started with seeing an oil painting exhibition showcasing works from a competition.  It was a big treat for the eyes, I was impressed by the great display of talents from local artists.  While I was at the HK Central Library, I went up to the Art Resources level and skimmed through all the available books of a Canadian wildlife painter I admire – Robert Bateman.  Would I be able to paint landscape/animals as well as him some day?

Time always seems scarce when you’re enjoying yourself, I couldn’t indulge in the books but rather had to rush back to the studio to pick up my brushes and paint and then rush to my evening painting classes.  I was a little frustrated as I was having a hard time with the watercolor painting.  I was hoping to get a little relief with the oil painting class that followed, but I painted the whole class and still couldn’t get the geometry right!  Frustration escalated.  Shouldn’t Art be something to be enjoyed and bring relaxation?  Am I feeling the frustration that many artists suffer from?  Sigh.
