Went back to my Alma Mater before noon to sit in on a public lecture by Xi Zinong on “Protecting the Nature through Images”. The humble and admirable wildlife photographer have spent ~30 years treading through the most remote locations in China taking breathtaking pictures of nature. I understood probably around 60% of the mandarin, but through his meticulously arranged images, I was touched by his love of nature and China, I can almost feel his sense of helplessness seeing the harsh treatment of wildlife and landscape in the name of economic development by the Chinese Government.
After the lecture, I had lunch and then took a leisurely stroll around the campus. I also went to the main library to pay for my alumni library card, something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I took a look around the interior of the newly renovated library while I was there, really love how the new extension is submerged with natural light that’s filtered by the water fountain above.
