There was a DIY fair at the JCCAC this weekend, it was a good opportunity for a social activity with a couple of my primary school buddies – one of them is interested in seeing architectural renewal projects and the other knows a friend who has a booth set up there. I didn’t go without expectations of my own, I wanted to see if it’s actually possible to make a living doing DIY. I have no concluding answers however.
One of the friends had to leave early, so me and the other friend went for dinner ourselves. I congratulated my friend for getting a job offer within just a few weeks of moving back.
My two friends, and also many of my peers, have good stable jobs and are quite successful in my view. Looking back on myself, I’m one of the few who decided not to climb the corporate ladder and try to make it out on my own. No stable income, and there’s no guarantee that there ever will, I sometimes question whether I’ve made the right decision to risk entrepreneurship.
