Visited mother at the hospital despite being told by her every time not to do so. I’m sure she liked seeing us despite what she says, wouldn’t life be so much simpler if women speaks their mind?! On the sign above her bed that used to say my mother must lie in bed was an additional note that says she may now try sitting up. Very thankful for seeing improvement on her condition.
I never quite enjoyed listening to my mother talk about her family, but it seemed a little different when it came out from my father’s mouth. On our way to the hospital, my father told us why my mother’s chinese name has the character “娣”, it was because my mother have 4 elder sisters and her family really wished to have a brother “弟”, but added the girl “女” side after knowing a baby girl was born.
While assisting with the hospital admittance, I found out my mother’s year of birth. Her age is exactly double mine this year, and it was at my age now (34 y/o) that she gave birth to me! Interesting.
I was telling my mother that I can’t visit her tomorrow morning and will see if I can drop by the hospital at night, but she reminded me that I have fellowship tomorrow night. From dislike to acceptance, and to reminding me of my weekly fellowship, I am thankful for seeing a change of attitude in my parents towards me going to church.
Oh Lord, thank you for letting me see improvement in my mother’s condition, and thank you for letting me get to know her a little more due to this accident. Please continue to help my mother recover, let her be patient, rest well at night, and to be able to come home soon.
