Went running this afternoon, jogged for ~12k without resting, my longest running distance yet! Speed was a little slow, but I can work on that later after I’m able to reach the targeted half-marathon distance.
On my walk home, I thought about what was said about achieving your dreams from my previous devotional plan. If I remember correctly, it more or less consists of the following stages:
Dream – you have a vision of what you want to achieve
Decision – making the decision to reach for your dream
Delay – often time it takes much longer than you would expect to achieve your dream, just like the many years that took the Israelite to reach Canaan
Dead End – one may reach a dead end along the way, just like the Israelite reaching Red Sea while being pursued
Deliverance – if we humble ourselves and seek God’s guidance, He will ultimately deliver us and help us reach the promised land
These stages also seem to apply to running and many other things…
