Some of my fellowship b/s will be heading to Sichuan for a short missionary trip this Sat., they’ll be giving a short summer programme for 2 different primary schools in the province. I insisted in helping out with some illustrations for their programme booklet, this is probably the least I can do to support their meaningful work.
Took the opportunity to do some cartooning this afternoon. I think visiting the 豐子愷 exhibition a couple of weeks ago had made an impact on me, it rekindled my interest in cartooning again. And to be more like 豐子愷’s cartoons, I decided to use a thin brush instead of the more familiar quill pen for the outlines.
I like the way cartoons can put a smile in people’s faces. I’ll be very satisfied if I can put a little smile in the kid’s faces when they see these cartoons on the covers.
