On day 17 of my 21-day “Living a Divinely Inspired Life” devotion plan, it’s about mentorship and learning from the wise – Elisha had Elijah, the disciples had Jesus, Timothy had Paul…
I was lucky enough to come across many mentors in my art and research career. For work, I was also fortunate enough to work and learn from many great people I admire. I still remember my first ever co-op job ~13 years ago, it was a junior internet programming position at a startup company. My immediate supervisor (also one of the founders) was a 30-something who worked and played hard. He never seems to lack energy – cycling, rollerblading, and training for the marathon. The company had less than 10 people and was full of fun and challenges. I wished to be like this supervisor some day. I wished to start a company and recreate that energetic and fun work environment. I still do wish to live out this dream after 13 years, may this day come soon.
p.s. received a partial payment today for a freelance project I had been working on for some time, it’s such a good feeling to finally start seeing the reward of hard work!
