Learned from the book that Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste is the major contribution to landfills and reclamation sites in HK.  This waste stream can be vastly minimized through better planning, design, construction, and maintenance of architectures.  Unfortunately, I find this particular book to be bloated with common sense and lacking much of the details, […]

Cardboard DIY Crafts

Frank Gehry’s Wiggle Chair had a major influence on me.  The creativity and craftsmanship involved in transforming a common discarded material into something so gorgeous and yet functional is simply ingenious! I’ve been experimenting a great deal in upcycling corrugated cardboard into plant pots, file holders, iPhone stands, boxes, etc.  Yet my greatest encouragement in […]

Spending much of my time these days reading books.  Sometimes I feel guilty for leisurely spending my time while most of my peers are working hard to make a living.  It seems almost as though I’m slowly building up a debt on finishing up my fair portion of meaningful work on Earth. I could have […]

Sunday Service

Hardly missed a Sunday Service for the last year or so, but this morning’s sermon by a guest pastor was the most powerful I’ve recieved for a long time.  The message was a bit scattered, but it got me to reflect upon my life.  God lavished so much on me, but never have I used […]

Mother’s Birthday

It’s mother’s 65th birthday today!  We took her to a seafood dinner in “Lee Yu Mun”.  As for her birthday gift, we bought her an iPad!  Need to set it up and teach her how to use it tomorrow, should be easier than the time I taught her how to use linux on my netbook!

My Home Studio

Little by little, in the course of about a year, I’ve slowly transformed an empty room at home into my studio – the place where I happily spend my 9 to 5.  Although there are still many things I want to experiment with the space, I probably won’t be spending too much time on it […]

Back to School

A gloomy day to kick-start possibly my last academic year.  Being part-time, it seems like my schedule will again be quite flexible this year – requiring to complete 2 electives, 1 design project, 1 dissertation, and an IT proficiency test.  The most critical and time-consuming part will definitely be the dissertation, but strangely I’m kind […]
